DOOGEE S61 Pro Review: A Transparent Design Rugged Phone with 20MP Night Vision Camera

The Doogee S61 Pro is a rugged smartphone with a focus on design. Designed to bring aesthetic satisfaction, the device is also lightweight and compact compared to most other phones in its class, so it can be easily operated with one hand. The visually pleasing device has the latest certifications and is also susceptible to most environmental challenges. This Article is aimed to introduce a detailed DOOGEE S61 Pro review to learn various specifications.

Design

Let’s take a look at the design of the S61 Pro. As you can see from the exterior, this is not an ordinary triple defense phone, at least I haven’t seen a triple defense phone with a transparent back cover. It reminds me of the Xiaomi 8 Explorer Edition, which also has a transparent back cover. Through the back cover, you can see the circuit board inside the S61 Pro, a very geeky design style that I believe many people will like.

The two sides are made with a honeycomb anti-slip finish. The middle design that looks like a wireless charging coil is actually an NFC coil. The headphone jack is of course there, and the SIM card slot supports two Nano SIM cards and a TF card. Another thing I like is that it only weighs 266g, which is light for many rugged phones that are over 300g.

How it looks

Doogee s61 pro then features a 6″ HD + LCD screen with realistic colors and a resolution of 1600 x 720. Even with a peak brightness of 500 nits, it is very bright and not the highest. Meaning that they reflect colors as accurately as possible.

As with other tri-HD phones, there’s nothing special in the specs, and it’s basically good enough for what you need. Even so, one thing I like about it: it’s a full rectangular screen, not a perforated or teardrop screen. Rugged phones don’t have narrow bezels anyway, so why not give us a full screen, right?

How it goes in everyday life

The Li-ion 5180 mAh, the non-removable battery provides a good backup battery for smartphones. It is a low-maintenance battery. No cyclical discharge is required and charging can be done at will. Equipped with a large 5.180 mAh battery, it guarantees up to two days of autonomy. It also avoids the hassle of looking around for mobile power and charging sockets.

Camera

What surprised us was the guest section. On the rear mount, the two cameras have a symmetrical double ring design. The main one is the 48 MP Samsung S5KGM1S sensor with an f / 1.8 aperture and a 90-degree field of view. It is a sensor capable of shooting Full HD video at 30 FPS.

Even though the second Sony sensor helps you shoot at night, the camera sensor allows you to take great photos, especially in sunlight. It is a 20 MP Sony IMX350 camera with an aperture of f 2.0 surrounded by a particularly bright LED ring. The night vision camera takes pictures at 20 MP.

Hardware Performance

The S61 Pro uses a MediaTek Helio G35 processor. With an AnTuTu score of 137,000, you can see that it is only an entry-level processor. But that doesn’t mean it can’t play games. Thanks to PUBG’s optimization for entry phones, the super smooth graphics can be maintained at 30fps, which is considered an acceptable level.

Conclusion

The S61 Pro is an affordable phone, but it’s also one of the most exceptionally designed phones out there. Even for more money, you’d be hard-pressed to see a more special rugged phone. And who doesn’t like a transparent phone, right? Performance is good enough to use the standard Android ecosystem, but certainly not to push the gaming or 3D graphics side of things. Excellent dedicated buttons can launch quick functions like a flashlight or any app. Photography is also good, above expectations considering the type of attribution, and above average for the quality of rugged poses.

DOOGEE S61 Pro Review: A Multiple Back Case Rugged Phone with 20MP Night Vision Camera

We all know that DOOGEE likes to experiment with new designs on rugged phones. If you remember, the S98 series we reviewed earlier looked different from other rugged phones. Today we’ll take a look at their new design, the S61 Pro, which once again refreshes our perception of rugged phone design. This Article is aimed to introduce a detailed DOOGEE S61 Pro review to learn various specifications.

  • ROM: 128GB

  • OS: Android 12
  • Power: 5180mAh
  • Screen: 6.0-inch display
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G35

Design & Appearance

The main focus of the Doogee S61 Pro is its design that combines aesthetics and durability. The brand decided to challenge the notion that rugged smartphones don’t offer customizable appearance options. Doogee has created four different back cases that can be changed. Our review unit comes with a clear back cover. It has a glossy finish and dark edges. The area where the NFX module can be seen. The electronic scheme visible on both sides of the dual-ring camera module is printed on the plastic back cover and does not represent the actual electronics.

IP68 | IP69K | MIL-STD-810H Certification

As for the measures, it is one of the most compact and rugged phones. It is 81.4 mm wide, 167.4 mm high, and has a gap of 14.6 mm. The weight is 266 grams, certainly not feather, but still included in this type of terminal. It is IP68 and IP69K MIL-STD-810H certified.

By measurement, it can withstand a drop from a height of one and a half meters and is resistant to dust, surviving underwater for about 30 minutes at 1.5 meters. Resistance is also due to the presence of Corning Gorilla Glass in front, although we have not found more precise specifications.

Display

The Doogee S61 Pro features a 6-inch IPS screen with HD+ resolution (720 x 1600 pixels) and Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. As we have already mentioned in the design section of this review, the display is from an older generation, with non-curved corners and thick bezels. The display settings are standard for Android 12 smartphones. They allow you to switch between light and dark themes and turn on/off automatic brightness, adaptive brightness, and night light. You can choose from a wide range of wallpapers, charging animations, font sizes and display sizes. The screen colour modes offer, as always, a choice between standard, vivid or cool colours, but these are not pre-calibrated colour modes.

Cameras

Fortunately, AGM sees this prospect as critical and has equipped the new H5 Pro with a massive 7,000 mAh battery. A powerful device needs a powerful battery, and 7,000 mAh is more than enough for everyday needs. Surprisingly, the H5 Pro is said to give you 423H standby, 21H video playback, and 10H gaming. There is a wireless charging dock there to support the charging operation. It is more convenient, simple, and reliable.

Performance

The processing power of this model depends on the 64-bit MediaTek Helio G35 chipset. It is manufactured using TSMC’s 12nm FinFET process and features the ARMv8.2-A architecture with an octa-core CPU comprising four A53 cores at 2.3GHz and another quad-core at 1.8GHz. The graphics department is managed by the 680 MHz IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. On board is 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of expandable internal memory. Of these 128GB, 116GB is available for user use.

Verdict

The robustness of the Doogee S61 is one of the best points. This is the terminal we recommend primarily to those who perform everyday tasks in extreme conditions. Let’s consider, for example, a terminal at risk of falling or for manual work handled without too much attention. From this point of view, it looks very robust, even if aesthetically it does not give up some of its refinement and delicacy, such as the transparent back.
