Android Operating System
What Is the Android Operating System?
The Android operating system is a mobile operating system that was developed by Google (GOOGL) to be primarily used for touchscreen devices, cell phones, and tablets. Its design lets users manipulate the mobile devices intuitively, with finger movements that mirror common motions, such as pinching, swiping, and tapping. Google also employs Android software in televisions, cars, and wristwatches—each of which is fitted with a unique user interface.
Android OS Features
The default UI of Android relies on direct manipulation inputs such as tapping, swiping and pinching to initiate actions. The device provides haptic feedback to the user via alerts such as vibrations to respond to actions. If a user presses a navigation button, for example, the device vibrates. Android OS also includes features to save battery usage. The OS suspends applications that aren’t in use to conserve battery power and CPU usage. Android includes memory management features that automatically close inactive processes stored in its memory.
Android Apps
All Android phones support Android apps, available through the Google Play Store. It was estimated that there were 2.2 million apps available, compared to 2 million apps on Apple’s App Store. Many app designers release both iOS and Android versions of their apps since both types of phones are so commonly owned. Apps include not only the obvious smartphone apps we all expect — such as music, video, utilities, books, and news — but also those that customize the very innards of an Android phone, even changing the interface itself. You can completely alter the look and feel of an Android device if you wish.

All Benefits About Android 10 Rugged Phones
Android 10: Q made its first market appearance in mid-2019 and was released at the end of the year. Since then, introduced phones have the OS version pre-installed and are backed by plenty of features that can change the way you use your Android devices.
1. Sound Amplifier
One of the most noticeable changes in Android Q is the presence of a new hearing experience, be it lectures, TV, or music. The presence of the sound amplifier allows you to boost the volume, turn down background noise, and fine-tune the audio to achieve a fully personalized hearing experience. Through this, headphone usage brings a lot more clarity than before.
2. Gesture Navigation
Android 10 started allowing users to get rid of the navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen by using gestures to switch between applications. The simple gestures have made it easy to get around your phone without relying on buttons and compromising the screen size. You can swipe to go backward, home, or even pull up the stock assistant on your device.
3. Privacy Control
Firstly, you can start adjusting all your privacy settings in one place, making it much more convenient to access app permissions, account activity, and personal data. Next, you can decide what data is to be stored on your device and for how long it’s retained. With this, you get a personalized experience while browsing the internet,e.g., recommended searches in relation to what you’ve been searching for recently. You can also choose when your location is shared, permanently or never.
4. Focus Mode
This is yet another excellent, usable feature added to increase productivity. Focus mode allows you to pause distracting apps and turn off notifications so that you can give your attention to what is important. Its highly customizable functionality enables you to decide the apps you want to mute and bypass. All you have to do is take a couple of minutes to set up the apps to silence, and then, the focus mode is simply a tap away.

Software
Google has designed the software of the S88 Pro in such a way that it is suited to that target market. It offers a version of Android 10 that’s relatively close to stock, including all the standard Google apps. The main addition is a called ‘Tool Bag’. This offers a selection of practical tools that you might turn to when out and about:
- Compass – tells you which direction you’re facing after calibration
- SoundMeter – measures the ambient noise level (in dB)
- Pic Hanging – allows you to hang straight pictures
- Gradienter – works like a spirit level
Battery
The battery is undoubtedly the area where the S88 Pro stands out from the competition. It comes with a mammoth 10,000mAh cell, which Doogee claims is capable of a staggering 8 days of use on a single charge. In my testing, which included Netflix and YouTube in addition to the everyday tasks listed above, I was able to get 6.5 days before reaching for the charger (equivalent to 25 hours of screen time). While it’s slightly short of the claims, that is truly remarkable.
Performance
It’s far from the most powerful mobile chipset, but its performance is solid. This combines with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, although the latter can be expanded up to 512GB via the microSD card slot. As such, my overall experience of the phone’s performance has been relatively positive. There were no app crashes, it responded quickly to my commands, and moving through the UI is relatively fluid

Smarter, more efficient, and more convenient. The new UI design has cooperated with fresh and stylish colors, allowing the whole interface to be unified and easy to use.
Face Unlock and Side Fingerprint Sensor
The glass cover is made of 5th generation Corning Gorilla explosion-proof glass, Solid and durable,scratch-resistant, and wear-resistant with a silky touch, it will get you out of the awkward feeling of using screen protectors and giving your fingers a pleasant and silky touch.
Design
One of the first things that I noticed immediately about the S59 Pro was its chunky size. Since it is a rugged smartphone, it’s normal for the device to be built in such a manner but that doesn’t make it easy to carry. As it has many protective layers and is made of metal and hard plastic, the phone is extremely heavy at 340g. It looks like a miniature tank or a brick, almost like a regular smartphone on steroids.

Installation and setup
Installation and setup were very straightforward, Doogee didn’t seem to add anything to the basic Android setup experience. You log in with or create a Google account, then you’re pretty much good to go. Once the phone was set up, there was very few bloatware or non-system applications. The Doogee S86 is running on Android 10 (which is one generation behind the latest as of the time of this review), and I didn’t see any promised schedule for updates to Android 11, which could limit the longevity of the device.
Design
The Doogee S86 smartphone basically has a rugged phone cover built onto the device itself. The ports have sealable flaps that keep water and dust out, while the rubber/metal/plastic case keeps everything safe from drops and impacts. On the left side of the phone are a multi-function button and a dual-sim card tray. The multi-function button can be easily mapped in Android Settings and can invoke 3 different apps or functions (short press, double press, and long press).
Speakers
The speakers are backward-facing but are decently loud. Doogee advertises an “up to 100 dB” rating, but they didn’t seem to get anywhere near that loud in my testing (though I don’t have a decibel tester on hand). They were about as loud as the loudest laptop speakers I’ve heard (MacBook Pro and Alienware 17), so they can fill a quiet room easily or be heard in a noisy environment. At full volume, they don’t sound blown out, but of course, there’s no bass – just a lot of noise.
